This weekend, two of our wonderful students, Holly and Darcey, demonstrated their incredible dedication by travelling all the way to Dunfermline, Scotland, for a karate competition on Saturday morning. While most of us were still recovering from our End of Year Awards and Celebration on Friday night, these girls were ready to hit the mats! Both girls had an incredible day, bringing home an impressive collection of medals:
Holly: 🥇 Ippon Gold, 🥇 Sanbon
Gold Darcey: 🥇 Kata Gold, 🥈 Sanbon Silver, 🥈 Ippon Silver
A massive thank you to the TKA – Takushoku Karate Association for hosting such a brilliant event!
We also want to give a huge shout-out to their dad, Terry, who is not only a dedicated parent but also one of our incredible parent coaches. On Friday night, Terry was the very first recipient of the Stuart Barwise Award, recognising his unwavering dedication and support, both on and off the mats. Terry’s commitment to the team is second to none—whether it’s driving through the night to get his girls to competitions or cheering them and their teammates on as they compete across the UK and beyond. Now, we just need to convince Terry to put on a Gi himself and join Holly and Darcey out on the mats! Congratulations to the whole family—you truly inspire us all! 🥋👏
