We are proud to offer a range of funded, inclusive sessions for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as part of Wigan Council’s Short Breaks scheme.

Whether your child wants to build confidence, get active, make friends, or just have fun in a safe, supported space — we’re here to help.

💥 What’s Included in Our Short Breaks Offer:

🟠 Scorpion Circle (Social Group – Non-Karate)

A relaxed, monthly social group with games, activities, and creativity in a small group setting.

  • ✔ Participant-led
  • ✔ Staff supported
  • ✔ No karate — just connection, fun, and friendship
  • ✔ Age groups alternate each month (Primary one month, Secondary the next)

🟡 1-to-1 Karate Sessions

For children and young people who may benefit from supported, personalised karate sessions before joining a group.

  • Taught by Chief Instructor Sensei Paul or World Championship Medallist Sensei Lucy
  • £6 per session (subsidised from £25 via Wigan Council Short Breaks)
  • Tailored to your child’s pace and goals

These must be pre-arranged: Book a callback

🧡 In-Class Support

If your child is ready to try a group karate class but would benefit from extra help, we can offer:

  • 1-to-1 support during regular karate classes
  • You can bring your own PA
  • A parent/carer can train for free
  • We can also provide a trained team member as funded support if needed

📝 Before You Book

When a place is confirmed, we’ll invite you to complete a short One Page Profile with us. This helps us understand your child’s strengths, needs, and how we can best support them.

Access notes:

  • Our venue has a few steps at the entrance
  • We are unable to provide personal care
  • Sessions are only open to Wigan residents under current funding
  • We cannot currently offer places to non-SEND siblings (due to group size limits)
