We hope that everybody is having a lovely summer so far and that our junior members are looking forward to getting back to school in September!
Tournament success!
If you cast your mind back to the 1st of July, I am sure that you will remember the club tournament! As always, it was an absolute pleasure to see that many students from across all our dojo’s in one place alongside the students (and Sensei!) of Cobra karate club. This year we managed to raise a whopping £886 for the stroke association charity. You have all done us extremely proud once again; special thanks go to all of you students, families and supporters *round of applause*.
Team news!
We extend our congratulations to Luke Shaw from our Warrington dojo who has worked very hard and has passed his assistant instructors qualification. Congratulations Sempai Luke!
We would like to formally welcome Sensei Amanda & Sensei Martin Kershaw to the instructor team. Most you will already be familiar with both Sensei’s and will have seen their also karate obsessed daughter Amy refereeing at the tournament.
Tournament team news
It’s been a long time coming, but we can finally confirm that we are going to be putting together a tournament team!
The team will be overseen mainly by the wonderful Sensei Amanda, with the assistance of Sensei Martin. Of course, Sensei Paul will also be a huge part of the tournament team, as will the rest of the Black Scorpion team. Sensei’s Amanda and Martin have a wealth of experience of the world of karate tournaments and competitions and have helped their daughter Amy achieve enormous success in her karate career on the international tournament circuit.
If you are interested in tournament training and in entering outside competitions to represent Black Scorpion Karate, please do let your class Sensei know.
We will update you all again once we have formalised a training programme.
Exciting times!
