Covid-19 Update

As you know, we have been following the situation regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and following the government guidelines as far as possible within the environments in which we run classes. With the announcement from the government regarding the closure of schools for the majority of students, we must close too. As such all of our classes closed from the date of the announcement and will remain closed until the schools reopen as long as it is safe for us to do so. Again, we will follow all of the government guidelines and recommendations.

The decision to close our classes has not been an easy one, but we all have a part to play in maintaining the health of those in our communities that are vulnerable (which it pains him to admit; includes Sensei Paul). The students and families of Black Scorpion Karate are our top priority. We will do everything in our power to get everything up and running again as soon as we can do so safely. While the physical classes are closed, we will be working hard behind the scenes to produce some ways that you can all maintain your training, including online tutorials/chats. As we hope most of you will already know, Black Scorpion Karate Club is not profit-driven, and we charge the minimum possible training fees required for us to cover our operating costs. As such, the times ahead are troubling for us as a business and as a family for whom the club provides our income. We are deeply touched by the messages of support that we have received; it is reassuring to know how much you all care. On that note, please be assured that if you are yourself struggling in these unprecedented circumstances, then absolutely do pause your standing orders, but we ask that you let us know so that we can plan with you for when we reopen. All members that maintain their payments while we are closed either in full or in part will receive the amount back as partial credit towards gradings and club events when classes reopen.

All of us at Black Scorpion Karate are absolutely devastated that the situation has now come to this. We have watched our amazing students flourish in every single one of our classes, and we cannot wait to see you all again as soon as possible! The club and the squad have gone from strength to strength over the last year, and we positively HATE having to hit the pause button. We are all still available across the social media channels which we use at @BlackScorpionKC (Facebook page and groups, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) as well as on the phone, email and text/WhatsApp.

Keep an eye on the Facebook group in particular for updates regarding our grand reopening, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later.
